Obituary of Guiti A. Vahid

Please share a memory of Guiti to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Guiti Vahid (Ghadimi) was born on August 26, 1935 in Iran to a loving and devoted Baha’i family.  She spent her formative years as a standout student and member of her Baha’i youth community.  She received her Bachelors degree in psychology from the University of Tehran in 1957 and upon graduation started her professional career in the Iranian ministry for fine arts.  She met her husband, Farhang Vahid, while serving on numerous Baha’i committees together, and got married in September of 1962.  That began 61 years of heroic and devoted marriage that gave them their daughter and son, Mehrnaz (Nanaz) and Vafa, their son and daughter in law (Shahin Ahdieh , Bushra Vahdat) and four grandchildren,  Leila (husband Gerardo), Parisa, Jazzmin, and Jesse (wife Sarah) and their beloved great-grandchild, Will.

Her steadfast devotion to her faith culminated with her membership on the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of Iran. As faith would have it, all the other members were executed in post revolutionary Iran, leaving her the sole survivor. To spare her life, she escaped her beloved homeland of Iran, and ultimately sought refuge in her new home in the United States.

Through out her life she remained dedicated to her beloved faith. She leaves behind legacy as a devoted wife and a cherished mother and grandmother to all who crossed her path. Those she leaves behind will miss her radiant countenance, her loving heart, and her compassion that knew no end.
