Obituary of Olive Barbot-Reimers

It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of Olive Barbot-Reimers of Manhasset NY, who passed away peacefully at Sunharbor Manor in Roslyn on November 17, 2023 at the age of 94. She was the beloved wife of Richard Theodore Reimers.

Olive was born in Normandy, France on October 20, 1929 to Joseph and Juliette Barbot and she came to the United States in 1957. 

Her parents and brothers Camille and Bernard have predeceased her. She is survived by her sister Suzanne DeGourney, nieces Christine and Carolyn, her sister-in-law Nancy Reimers Grant, niece Gretchen Grant Maclachlan, nephews Christopher and Timothy Grant and their families.

Olive owned a beauty salon on Northern Boulevard for many years and took great pride in her work as a hair stylist establishing many long time clients. After retiring she volunteered weekly at Sunharbor Manor for several years bringing happiness and joy to the residents and staff. She was a charming, gracious and fashionable woman who was loved by family and friends. May she rest in peace.

Visitation will be on Saturday December 2nd  from 9am-10am.  Funeral service will begin at 10am at the funeral home  with interment to follow at Nassau Knolls Cemetery in Port Washington.
