Obituary of Theodore Charles Newkirk

Please share a memory of Theodore to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Theodore Charles Newkirk of Howard Beach, New York passed peacefully on September 28, 2023 surrounded by family.  Ted, a devoted husband, loving father and brother is survived by his wife, Paola; daughters, Marie Newkirk (Marc Kalaygian) and Camille Messina (Steve); and sisters Carol Destefano (Carmine), Joanne Price and Gina Browne. He was also survived by his nieces and nephews to which he was known as the famous UT (Uncle Teddy).

Ted was a proud and dedicated member of the Fr. William A. Daly Council #2122 Knights of Columbus where he served as Grand Knight and was also President of the KOC Nassau Chapter. He loved being apart of the community, organizing charitable events and serving with his brother knights.

Ted had a larger than life personality and was known to bring people together. His tag line, “it’s all about the love” is commonly recited among his family, friends, and brother knights. Ted's life of love and service to all was exemplified by receiving the Robert Hartman Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023.
