Obituary of William Truss

William Truss, beloved husband of 67 years to the late Dorothy Josephine Truss, adored father of the late Cheryl A. Cook (the late Stephen), Diana T. Truss, Lauren M. Bartkowski (Albert) and William P. Truss (Lee Ann). Loving Pop-Pop to Sarah Smith, David and Jessica Bartkowski and Eric and Alexander Truss. Cherished brother to the late John Truss (the late Rita), to the late sister Mary Picardi (the late Julius), to the late brother Peter Truss (surviving sister-in-law Frances Truss) and survived by many nieces and nephews.  Born in Great Neck, N.Y. on May 3, 1929, William leaves behind a legacy of love for his family.  William was a dedicated Police Officer for the Kings Point Police Department on Long Island, N.Y. for over 30 years.  He was a long time member of The Alert Fireman’s Benevolent Association in Great Neck, N.Y. and an avid gardener and fisherman. William will be dearly missed by family, friends and neighbors.  He was a true blessing to all who knew him.  A private burial will be held at All Saints Cemetery in Great Neck, New York.
