Obituary of John Andrew Dazzo

Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Dazzo, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. John passed away peacefully on February 21, 2023 surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, John was the loving son of John and Sylvia Dazzo. He lived a full and happy life, always making the most of every moment and doing it “his way”. John was the life of the party, with a quick wit and contagious smile that could brighten anyone's day. John had a gift for bringing joy, entertaining, and cooking food for those around him. His positive energy and beautiful singing voice could captivate a whole room and that will certainly be missed by all.

Above all, John cherished his family. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Angela, for 62 years and a loving father to his children Mark and Stephanie as well as son-in-law Jim and daughter-in-laws Beth and Courtney. He adored his grandchildren Juliet, Andrew, Luke, Jimmy, Declan, Christian, Kathleen, Jason, Herron, and Kailyn. John took great pleasure in spending time with his family, always eager to share stories of growing up in Brooklyn and Staten Island. John was a pillar of strength for his family, always putting others first, offering support and guidance when they needed it most.

John was a hardworking man who dedicated his life to providing for his family. He was a successful engineer at Leviton and one of the top salesmen at Electrolux. John took great pride in his work and always went above and beyond to ensure the happiness and wellbeing of his loved ones. John’s heaven on earth was soaking up the rays of the sun – whether that be in his cherished backyard poolside or at Sandy Hook beach.

John will be deeply missed by his sister, Margaret, as well as his nieces, nephews, and countless friends – especially those along Plandome Road. He was a true friend to all. His legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those he touched throughout his entire life. John is now reunited with his daughter Stephanie, brother Robert, mother Sylvia, and father John.

A wake will be held on Friday, February 24 with two viewings: 3-5pm and 7-9pm at Fairchild Sons Funeral Chapel in Manhasset (1570 Northern Blvd // 516-627-2000). The funeral mass will be held at St. Peter’s Alcantara in Port Washington at 10:30am on Saturday, February 25. John will be laid to rest at Locust Valley Cemetery (117 Ryefield Road).

You will be dearly missed but your legacy of love, kindness, and joy will be remembered forever. Rest in peace, John.
