Obituary of Joseph Christopher Lauricella

 Joseph Lauricella, 92, peacefully passed away on July 7, 2022 after a brief illness. Joe was predeceased by his wife, Rose (Meteyka), in 1983.

He is survived by his long-time significant other, Mary Anne McCoy, his son Christopher, daughter-in-law Kristin, granddaughter Josephine, and grandson Tristan.

Joseph was a long-time parishioner at Saint Peter of Alcantara, where he served as an usher. He was also a proud veteran of The United States Army Air Force, an amateur radio enthusiast, disciplined runner, and avid sailor.

He served in the 15th Air Force as a member of Strategic Air Command. His amateur radio call sign was K2olc. He ran thirteen marathons, including New York City, London, and Reykjavík. And he volunteered for over 50 years as a member and bridge officer of the Port Washington Sail and Power Squadron, including numerous stints as Commander.

A wake will on be held at Fairchild and Sons Funeral Home, 1570 Northern Boulevard, Manhasset, New York 11030 from 3-5pm & 7-9pm on Thursday July 14, 2022.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday July 15, 2022 , 11:45am at Saint Peter of Alcantara, 1321 Port Washington Boulevard, 11050, with funeral services at Nassau Knolls Cemetery, 500 Port Washington Boulevard, immediately after.,
