Obituary of Dr. Edward M. Goldberg

Please share a memory of Dr. Edward to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Dr. Edward M Goldberg passed peacefully on January 6th, 2022; months shy of his 79th Birthday. He will be remembered for his dedication to Bahá'u'lláh and the Bahai Faith, his electrifying personality, cheerful love of life and people and his acute sense of humor. A long-time resident of Westbury, Eddie was born in Manhattan and raised in the Bronx. He had an extraordinary career in Optometry which spanned most of his adult life and led to many missionary trips abroad in the name of Bahá'u'lláh and the Bahai faith. He was an avid reader, a scholar of the Bahai faith, a part time crossword puzzle solver whom mastery lasted until Thursday weekly. A true Yankee fan who also cheered for the New York Giants.

His loving and curious personality endeared him to many people in all walks of life. There was never a stranger in the room if Eddie was in the room. It would normally start as brief introduction and normally end with a tutorial on the Bahai Faith.

He is survived by his wife Despy Goldberg of 34 years, his twin brother Charles, his daughter Jennifer, cousins Mickey, Ellen, Eddie, Michael, and many nieces, nephews and countless relatives and friends.

His Funeral service will be held at Fairchild Sons in Manhasset on Sunday 1/16/2022 5:00pm. The Burial will take place on Monday 1/17/2022 11:00am at Pine Lawn Memorial in Farmingdale, New York. We will always remember him with joy, love and laughter.
