Azam Tamaddon of Glen Cove, New York, beloved wife of Firouz Tamaddon and mother to Farid, Foad, and Mina Tamaddon passed away peacefully at home on January 2, 2022. She was 93 years old. Azam was born in Tabriz, Iran on December 19, 1928 and moved to the United States in 1978 following the Iranian Revolution. She was educated as a mid-wife and was most dedicated to building a life with Firouz. Azam was a vivacious, free spirit who welcomed everyone she met with warmth and love. She was a deeply spiritual person who loved God and felt most connected to divine spirit in nature. She loved caring for her garden, was an exceptional cook, loyal friend, and devout mother and grandmother. Her love for family was unconditional. She has now joined Firouz in heaven who passed on July 8, 2016. She is survived by her sister Akram Elias Azar, her brother Shahin Elias Azar, her three children and her granddaughters Ines and Sonya.

Funeral services will be held at the Fairchild Sons Funeral Chapel in Manhasset, NY on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 10:30AM.

You, who leave this mortal world riding upon the horse of immortality: you are wise, you see the way, you follow your knowingness. Not burdened by physicality, not lured by any baits and traps -- freeing yourself from disappointment, you travel in fulfillment. Not like reason, petty and small, not like ego, full of spite, not like the earthly animal spirit -- you travel as pure life-force. Woven of heavenly thread, brilliant like the moon; you’ve found the path and journey to the unseen. Your temperament, like spring water, has added its scent, its color, to the earth - so that no one will think that you travel without leaving your mark. RUMI
