Marc L. Citron, of Great Neck, N.Y., passed away from glioblastoma multiforme on February 25, 2021, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was 72. Born in Detroit, MI, Marc was a clinical and research breast oncologist, and Emeritus Chair of Oncology at ProHealth Care Associates. He was also a clinical professor of medicine at Hofstra North Shore LIJ School of Medicine. He leaves an incredible legacy, including the many patients he helped and saved, and his proud family, who loved him very much. His family is so thankful for, and appreciative of, all of the love, kindness, and support they have received from friends and relatives during this time.
Marc is survived by his wife, Chris; daughter, Leah Dembitzer (David); sons, Evan Citron (Brittany) and Adam Citron (Adline); and grandchildren, Lucas, Noah, and Sloan Dembitzer, Liam and Isla Citron, and Alec Citron. He will be deeply missed by the many lives he touched.

Marc established Conquer Cancer awards in 2020 to ensure the next generation of researchers will have the same opportunities he received during his pioneering career to pursue innovative and practice-changing research, and to make a difference in the lives of patients.
