Katherine (Tsitsos) Vlavianos, 64 years of age, of Albertson, New York passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, February 11, 2021. She was the loving wife of James Vlavianos, sharing 35 years of marriage. Born in Brockton, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Christopher and Erifili (Giannaros) Tsitsos. Kathy was raised and educated in Massachusetts and moved to New York upon marriage. She worked in the banking field prior to becoming a full-time mother. Most recently year, Kathy worked for the Herricks School System food services. Kathy’s greatest joy in life was being a wife and mother. Her two daughters were her pride and joy. She was equally devoted to her parents and her sister. Kathy was a kind and gentle soul, who gave unselfishly of herself unto others. She was known for her love of family and kindness to friends. Throughout her life, she quietly, and without fanfare, helped her friends and family. Kathy especially enjoyed cooking, baking, and maintaining a loving and compassionate household. She was the adoring mother of Nicole Vlavianos, of Albertson, NY, and Jennifer George and her husband Timothy, of Crofton, MD. She was the beloved sister of Anna Tsitsos, of Brockton, MA. She was the dear daughter-in-law of Nikitas and Florence Vlavianos, of Astoria, NY. She is also survived by many godchildren, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church of Port Washington, NY, or Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of Brockton, MA.
