Please share a memory of Fernanda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Elegant and eternally gracious, Fernanda Iannacci, of Port Washington, passed away peacefully on March 18 with her family by her side. She was 86 years old. Born in Frosinone, province of Lazio, Italy, Fern was the beloved and youngest child of the late Antonio Sirizzotti and his wife Cecilia, sister to Adelia Paniccia and Gino Sirizzotti. Fern was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In 1953, she married Angelo Gabriel Iannacci, of A&J Brick Masons based in Ozone Park, Queens. Together they raised three devoted daughters, Lisa, Angela and Linda. A beacon of light and pillar of strength for many, Fern was guided by her faith and love for life, which she generously celebrated with her large extended family including in-laws, nieces, nephews, and family friends who would come together regularly to enjoy her festive Sunday gourmet dinners and holidays. Fern immigrated to the United States as a teenager, determined to become educated. She was a powerful voice for her husband in business, as well as for her family, friends, and greater community as they negotiated important life milestones, including education, housing, and medical care. Fern will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 66 years, Angelo, and their children, Lisa and her husband Anthony Manasia, Angela and her husband Jim Baydar, and Linda her husband Rob Robin. Fern will also be cherished forever by her six grandchildren, Zachary, Alexander, Andrew, Juliana, William, and Thomas. Fern was proud to uphold the honor of her Italian heritage. Her legacy is marked by a passionate value for education and being one’s best self, which she firmly instilled in all three of her daughters. A Memorial has been established to honor Fern Although there is no substitute for one’s physical presence when offering comfort in a time of mourning, we understand this may be difficult considering the state of our nation’s health at this time. As an expression of love and affection for Fern and respect for the values she held dear during her life, a fund has been established in her honor. Memorial contributions can be donated to the Columbus Citizens Foundation College Scholarship Program, in Memory of Fern Iannacci.
