Please share a memory of Christine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Christine Nichols, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, died on Saturday, July 30, in Manhasset, New York at age 90. She was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on July 17, 1926, and grew up in Long Island City, New York with two brothers and one sister. On April 28, 1957, she and her husband, Peter, were married at St. Demetrios Cathedral in Astoria, New York. Peter and Christine lived for many years in Flushing, New York, where they raised their daughter, Maria. They moved to Manhasset later in life to be closer to Maria, their son-in-law, Peter Dedousis, and their grandsons, Anthony and Demitri. Christine was active in the community well into her old age, as an active parishioner at the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church in Roslyn, New York, and an enthusiastic member of the Ladies’ Philoptochos and the Hellenic Women’s Club. She enjoyed playing gin rummy, traveling to Greece, watching Jeopardy, and bragging about her grandchildren. Above all else, she cherished time spent with family. She was greatly loved by family and friends, and will be deeply missed.
