Obituary of Stanley V. Antonucci

Please share a memory of Stanley to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
April 4, 1934 - June 24, 2016 Stanley Vincent Antonucci, loving husband, father and grandfather left this world on Friday June 24, 2016. Born and raised in the Bronx, Stan was a great NY Yankees and NY Giants fan. Stan himself was a great baseball player and was even scouted by the Pittsburgh Pirates prior to entering the U.S. Navy. As a testament to his love of the sport, Stan later went on to form a softball team, the 1988 and 1991 champion Woodside Hitmen, on which his sons Sal and George played. Stan was very proud to serve his country and always spoke fondly of his days spent in the Navy on board the USS Greenwich Bay. In recent years he always looked forward to his annual naval reunion trips, where accompanied by his wife Christine, he would spend time with his former crew mates and their spouses. To know Stan was to love him. He always had a joke or funny story to tell, and was a loving, kind and generous man. Nothing made him happier than being able to help someone, whether that meant driving someone someplace, helping them shovel snow or running an errand for them. Above all, his family was important to him. Stan is survived by Christine Antonucci, his loving wife of 57 years, his four children Elizabeth, Rosemarie, George and Sal, his grandchildren Alexis, Scott, Vincent, Roddy and Jonathan, his daughters and sons-in-law, Scott, Lisa, Nora and George, his great grandchildren Jehilyn, Jason, Cataleya, Leonidas and his ever faithful dog Mowgli.
