SCHROETER II – Carl, Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, January 25th, 2016, Son of the late Fred and Shirley Schroeter, brother to the late Ricky Schroeter. Former 30 year employee of Nassau County, Retired as Director of Real Estate in 2012. 40+ year resident of Port Washington, Class of 1969. Graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University 1973, Member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. Active volunteer firefighter for nearly 40 years, Member of Port Washington Fire Department 1976 to 1993, Ex-Captain of Protection Engine Company 1984, Member of Miller Place Fire Department 1994 until passing, Ex-Chief of Department 2011-2012. Survived by his loving wife Mary Lee (née O'Reilly) of Plandome, NY, Daughter Christina Lee and husband Jonathan Bates of Canton, CT, Son Thomas Frederick and fiancé Natalie Kuhnert of Brooklyn, NY, Siblings Robert and his wife, Gina, of New Hyde Park, NY, Susan and her husband, Robert McMullan, of Morristown, NJ. Visitation at the Fairchild Funeral Chapel, 1570 Northern Blvd., Manhasset on Friday, January 29th, 3-5 and 7-9. Funeral Service to be held at Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 12 Franklin Ave., Port Washington, Saturday, January 30th, 11am, private burial. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made out to, Lutheran Church of Our Savior, of 12 Franklin Avenue, Port Washington, New York 11050, or Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, PO Box 1056, Rocky Point, New York 11778.
