Obituary of William F. Ryan

William Francis Ryan of Manhasset, NY passed away on Sunday September 27, 2015 at the age of 91. Mr. Ryan was predeceased by his wife Joan. He was the loving father of Ellen Simmons (Bruce), Dan Ryan (Kathy), Ann Louise Green, Neil Ryan (Kathy), and Kate Horan (John). The cherished grandfather of Brian, Matt, Claire, Suzanne, Kristin, Andrea, Casey, Tim, Meghan, and William, and the proud great grandfather of Decker. Mr. Ryan was a WWII Veteran, having served in the United States Navy. He was a graduate of St. John's University, and he retired from Montgomery Ward after a career of over 30 years. After retiring he spent countless hours volunteering for St. Mary's Church and St. Francis Hospital. Visitation will be held at the Fairchild Funeral Chapel, 1570 Northern Blvd., Manhasset on Friday 3:00-5:00PM and 7:00-9:00PM The Funeral Mass will be on Saturday at 10:00AM at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 1300 Northern Blvd. Manhasset, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis Hospital Pastoral Care or The Lead the Way Fund.
