Obituary of Michael Francis Strianese

Michael Francis Strianese of New York died February 9th following a brief illness. He was 91. Mr. Strianese was born in Brooklyn, New York on June 7, 1923. He served in the United States Marine Corps from June 1943 until his discharge as a corporal in January 1946. A qualified marksman and crewman, Mr. Strianese served in the Asiatic-Pacific region for two years and participated in the Battle of Okinawa in April of 1945, the largest amphibious assault in the Pacific during World War II. Following his service in the Marine Corps, Mr. Strianese returned to New York and married Rosemary, his wife of 60 years. In addition to his wife, Mr. Strianese is survived by his children, Michael (wife Alyson), Christine Strianese Coulton (husband Andrew), and Anthony, as well as seven grandchildren.
