Obituary of Maria V. DeFeo

Maria DeFeo, 85, of Port Washington NY, peacefully passed away on January 2nd surrounded by the love of her family.

Maria Virginia DeFeo was born September 5th, 1938, in Aiello del Sabato Italy the daughter of Alberto and Ilda Russo. On January 18th of 1962 she married Michael DeFeo, a blessed union for 54 years. She is survived by her brother Rizzero Russo and his wife Lina, sisters Emilia Rossi, Clotilde Catapano and her husband Francesco three children Vito DeFeo and his wife Carol, Rose Malatino and her husband Michael, and Grace Pangbourne and her husband Scott.  Grandchildren and great-grandchildren include Alexandria, Adriana, Isabella, Marceline, Gabriella, Brianna, Julianna, Michael, Matteo, Mila, Kenneth, and Caroline. She was predeceased by her husband and sister Sebastiana Cocchia.

Maria’s pride and joy was her family. She expressed her love through her cooking and enjoyed sharing her recipes with her children and grandchildren. Everyone who had the pleasure to be around her felt her warmth and caring heart and will never forget her beautiful smile. 

A mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on January 6th at St Peter’s of Alcantara Church in Port Washington with Monsignor Robert Clerkin officiating. Burial followed at Nassau Knolls Cemetery.
