Obituary of Robert Palma

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Robert (“Bob”) Palma, 64, of Manhasset, New York, passed away on November 1st, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Nicoletta (“Nikki”), and their proud daughters, Jacqueline (“Jackie”) and Stephanie.

Bob grew up going to the beach, playing baseball, riding his bike, and shucking clams in Babylon, NY with his parents (Joseph and Lucy), grandmother (Giovanna / “Jenny”), and older brother (Joseph / “Joe”). After graduating from Babylon High School, he pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing at St. John’s University. Although he enjoyed attending basketball games and participating in the Marketing Club, he always said the real bonus of attending St. John’s was meeting his wife, Nikki.

A natural pitchman, Bob began his career working as sales rep for the ERTL Company. After two years, he pivoted into the pharmaceutical industry at Syntex Laboratories and ended his 28-year career at Purdue Pharma. He was a dedicated employee and beloved mentor.

Bob enjoyed skiing, fishing, cooking, traveling, listening to live jazz, relaxing in Montauk, and socializing at Strathmore. Above all, he cherished spending quality time with family and friends. A caring husband, supportive father, loyal brother, and dear friend to many, Bob was a “larger than life” individual who will be fondly remembered.

Friends and family may pay their respects at Fairchild Sons Funeral Home at 1570 Northern Boulevard, Manhasset, New York on Monday, November 6th from 6-8pm or Tuesday, November 7th from 2-4pm or 6-8pm.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Veterans Moving Forward (https://vetsfwd.org/donate/) or NYP/Cornell Weill Cancer Care and Research (https://give.classy.org/BobPalma) in honor of Robert Palma.

A funeral mass service will be held at 10:15am on Wednesday November 8th, at Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 1300 Northern Boulevard, Manhasset, New York, 11030.
