Obituary of John Tsoumpas

Tsoumpas, John, 86 of Manhasset passed away peacefully at his home, on 7 August 2023.  He is survived by his loving wife of over sixty years, Ellie, his devoted children Simone and Michael, his brother Gus of Athens, Greece, his grandchildren George, Ellie, Thea and John-Michael of Manhasset, New York, Sophia of Tampa Bay, Florida, John-Oliver and Alethea of The Bahamas and great-grandchildren Penelope, Lucious and Leo.  John was born on the island of Chios, Greece and emigrated to the United States in 1956.  He and his brothers started from scratch and rapidly expanded a successful restaurant and realty business in New York City over the course of five decades.  John was exceptionally devoted to his family.  He was known to be always ready with a clever quip and funny anecdote.  

Visiting hours will be held 4-8 PM on Sunday 13 August at Fairchild & Sons Funeral Home, Manhasset.  Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday 14 August at Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church in Port Washington followed by interment at Nassau Knolls Cemetery in Port Washington.
