Obituary of Gary F. Smith

Gary F. Smith, C.P.A.,82 of Pt. Washington passed away after a long illness, on July 29, 2023, surrounded by his heartbroken. family.  He is survived by his loving wife and high school sweetheart, Rosalie A., devoted children, Susan T. Lattanzio, Gary F. Jr., Tamara Smith and granddaughters, Marissa Rae and Cailey Lynne of Newark, De.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Mayo P. and Ella Marie Smith, brothers Mayo P. of Chappaqua, N.Y. and Kevin T. Smith of Ridgewood, N.J. He is survived by his brother David D. Smith of Moraga, CA.

Gary was in the  U.S.Marine Corps., Enjoyed his time as Cub Scout Master of Troope 485, Franklin Sq., and served on, and  was  President of two N.Y. School Boards, Mt. Pleasant (West. Co.) and Franklin Sq. District 17 (Nassau Co.),.  He retired as Controller/Chief Financial Officer from Barnard College in  2002. Visiting hours on Thursday are 3-5 and 7-9, at Fairchilds Sons  Funeral Home, Manhasset.  Funeral Mass on Friday at 10:30am will be at Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y., followed by internment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, kindly make donations in Gary's name to Wounded Warriors  or Tunnels to Towers Foundations.
