MIGLIO - Salvatore Michele, a resident of Southampton, NY, was born on September 16, 1932 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Annarella Ferrara Miglio and Domenico Miglio, both from Naples, Italy. He passed away on July 20, 2016. He was the husband of Marilyn (Poling) Miglio. They shared 60 years of marriage together. He was a resident of Manhasset for over 50 years and a parishioner of St. Mary's R.C. Church. He was a real estate developer on Long Island and in New York City. He was active in the Republican Party and local political campaigns, and he was the former Commissioner of Human Rights for Nassau County for 25 years. He founded and conducted the Christmas Bail-out Program at the Nassau County Jail for 25 years. He also established a school 35 years ago in Haiti, (Operation Reach-out Haiti) in memory of his son Domenic Miglio, which, to this day, feeds and educates more than a thousand Haitian students, some of them orphans. In addition, he built a library at Our Lady of Grace Montessori School, Manhasset, in memory of his son Domenic Miglio. When his children were growing up, he enjoyed going clamming with them and taking them for boat rides in his Browning speedboat in Little Peconic Bay, Southampton. He also enjoyed taking them to Italy and France during the summer. He is most remembered for his unending love of family, humanity, and especially, all children. He is survived by his spouse: Marilyn Miglio; children: Dina Rojas, Grace Pearce, Sally Doulton, Richard and the late Domenic; grandchildren: Emily, Edward and William Rojas; Emma Pearce; Ryan, Aidan, Domenic and Dylan Miglio; Paul and Dawn Banach; and sons-in-law: Edward Rojas, Matt Pearce and Fred Doulton. Brother of Ida Arbucci, Sadie Paciullo and several brothers and sisters who pre-deceased him. Brother-in-Law of Marie Miglio, Mae Tucillo, Arlene and Dr. Nicholas D'Arienzo, and Lucille and Tom Tymann.
