Obituary of Christopher J. Carroll, Jr.

Christopher Joseph Carroll, Jr., 85, of Port Washington, New York passed away peacefully on Thursday July 22, 2021 at Nassau County University Medical Center after a brief illness.

He was born on July 19, 1936 in Manhattan, NY to Christopher and Margaret (Dwan) Carroll, of Dundalk and Tipperary, Ireland.

The Carroll family settled in the Bronx, yet Chris and his siblings attended Catholic boarding schools in Texas. Shortly after his high school graduation, he enlisted in the US Army, where he served with distinction and received an Honorable Discharge in 1964.

Upon his return home, Christopher embarked on a successful, lifelong career on Wall Street, until his retirement in 2001.

Chris is survived by beloved sisters, Jane Antil of CT, and Margaret (Gerry) Diskin of NY, and sister in-law, Margie (John) Carroll of FL, along with his adoring nieces and nephews.

A wake will be held at Fairchild & Son’s in Manhasset, NY on Thursday July 29th, 2021 between 6:00 – 9:00 pm.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday July 30th, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Manhasset, NY at 10:15am, followed by interment at Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, NY.
