Obituary of Ange Raptis

Please share a memory of Ange to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Ange “Aggeliki” Raptis from Athens, at the age of 67 on June 1, 2021.  Daughter to Maria Marinakis, loving and loyal wife to her husband of 50 years, Xenofon Raptis, beloved mom to her daughter, Joanne Hantzopoulos, and her husband, Nikolaos Hantzopoulos, her daughter, Maria Angelica Raptis-Kosmidis, and her husband, Ioannis Kosmidis, her son, George Xenofon Raptis and his wife, Ekaterini Raptis, and adoring grandmother to her grandchildren, Aliki Nicole Hantzopoulos, George John Hantzopoulos, Konstantinos Iason Kosmidis, Xenofon Samuel Kosmidis, Xenofon George Raptis and Athena Eleni Kosmidis.  Ange was the eldest of 4 children, and is survived by her sister Despina Theocharis and preceded in death by her sister Vivian Karouzakis and her brother Konstantinos Marinakis. She was a very special aunt to her nephews and nieces whom she loved very much.  And last but not least, the remaining family and friends, near and far, whom she kept close to her heart.

Ange courageously battled late stage pancreatic cancer with the love and support of her family and all those who loved her.

Everyone who knew Ange knew that her family came first.  Nothing was ever more important.  She cared for us tirelessly, loved us unconditionally and praised us constantly and without hesitation. She was a true and dignified matriarch, ‘Our Queen,’ and her impact on our lives is and forever will be immeasurable.

May her memory be eternal.
