Obituary of Rosemarie Hicks

Rosemarie Hicks, age 88, died on April 21st, 2021. Born in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn on June 14, 1932, she remained devoted to New York City and to living there her entire life. She married Frederick Hicks in 1950. They spent many wonderful family years in Ridgewood with their son, Kevin, born in 1956 and daughter, Karen, born in 1958. Little Neck, Queens, was her home for the last thirty years, where she enjoyed the easy commute to Manhattan working as a receptionist for MGM/United Artists. Little Neck also afforded easy proximity to Karen, her grandsons and her son-in-law, Helmut, whom she adored until the day she died. The losses of, Frederick in 1979, and her beloved son, Kevin in 1986, were endured with fortitude. She loved life and persevered. Kevin's loss, always present, was tempered by the passionate adoration of her grandsons, Jeffrey and Eric. They returned those sentiments. Karen, most of all, will miss her unwavering love through good times and bad.
