Obituary of Joan Schoenberger

Joan Schoenberger, passed away on November 16, 2020 at the age of 78 in New York City. Joan was the beloved daughter of Edward and Fran Schoenberger (Manhasset, NY) and brother Paul Schoenberger,Esq (The Villages, FL) cherished Aunt and Godmother of Tara (Schoenberger) Neumann (Jim) and Great Aunt to Amelia and Luke. Joan grew up in Manhasset, attended St Mary’s high school and graduated from Boston University, where she made lifelong friends. She continued on to receive her Masters in Counseling from Michigan State University. She was a long-time resident of New York City and spent many summers in Montauk NY, where she was most happy at the ocean. She retired as a Senior Vice President, in Human Resources at the Bank of East New York, where her talents shone, especially when counseling and helping others. She was deeply devoted to the Church, her family, a wide group of friends and the NY Yankees. Funeral services are to be held at St. Mary’s Church in Manhasset on Friday December 4th at 10:15 am. Interment, Cemetery of Holy Rood, Westbury, NY. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Dorot, www.dorotusa.org, an organization very dear to Joan.
