Obituary of Pasqua C. Grippo

Pasqua C. Grippo, 86, of Roslyn Heights, NY passed away surrounded by her loving family and friends, on December 12, 2019.  She was born on August 12, 1933 to Pasquale and Loretta Attivissimo in Brooklyn, NY.  Pasqua, or Pat as she was commonly known, moved to Ridgewood, Queens, NY as a child where she lived, later married and raised her family, ultimately moving to Long Island, NY in 2002. She was a devout Catholic, a loving wife and mother who also enjoyed a successful career outside the home.  In her retirement years, she performed charitable works including children’s reading programs and other related school activities to advance children’s literacy.

She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Mary Perenza and her brother Andrea Attivissimo. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Nicholas R. Grippo, daughter, Judy A. Grippo, son George T. Grippo and his wife Diane, daughter Jaclyn T. DeFalco and her husband Ciro; grandsons Nicholas A. Grippo, Brian J. Grippo and through marriage granddaughter Jessica L. Franzese and her husband Frank and great granddaughter Sofia F. Franzese. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Jack F. Perenza, her sister-in-law, Marilyn Attivissimo, her aunt, Catherine (Kitty) Attivissimo, her loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews as well as great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and other extended family across the country.

Pasqua will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends, as she lived a blessed life always supporting others while possessing the unique ability to rise above all challenges moving forward with beauty and grace.

Relatives and friends are invited to visitation services on Sunday, December 15, 2019 from 2:00p to 5:00p and 7:00p to 9:00p at Fairchild Sons Funeral Home, located at 1570 Northern Boulevard, Manhasset, NY 11030.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal R.C. Church located at 62-81 60th Place, Ridgewood, NY 11385 on Monday, December 16, 2019 at 10:30a. Interment to follow at Calvary I Cemetery in Long Island City, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Pasqua C. Grippo to The American Cancer Society or to any of the hospitals, institutions or organizations below.

A very special thanks to the doctors, nurses and caregivers at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, The Northwell Health Monter Cancer Center, Long Island Jewish Hospital, North Shore University Hospital, The Stern Rehabilitation Center and The Hospice Care Network who took such tender and loving care of this wonderful woman as she moved forward in her journey. Rest in Peace, Pasqua!
