Obituary of Ruth M. Daliendo

Please share a memory of Ruth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Ruth Margaret Adele Daliendo (Nagel), 81, passed away unexpectedly on March 01, 2019 in the loving presence of her daughter, three grandchildren, and son-in-law. She will be reunited with her son, Maximillian N. Daliendo, her parents Maximillian and Ruth Nagel, her first son-in-law Gerald F. Scott, and all her friends and family already in Heaven.

Ruthee is survived by: her daughter, Sheri Scott Calleo (Luigi); her three grandchildren, Justin (Leidy), Maximillian, and Hannah; her husband Alphonse (Funzy) Daliendo; her longest and dearest friend Marilyn Abbondandelo; her many brother-in-laws and sister-in-law; her many nieces and nephews; and all the friends and family of those lives she has touched so deeply.

Ruthee was born on Thursday, August 19, 1937 at 1:05 am at Evangelical Deaconess Hospital in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Glendale, New York. She was married to Alphonse Daliendo on January 5, 1963, and lived in Richmond Hill , New York, until she moved to Manhasset. She was a resident of Manhasset for 45 years. She was always surrounded by loving family and close friends. She had an optimistic view on life and always had a smile on her face and joy in her eyes. Ruthee loved animals, especially Sheri’s dog Vito, and parrot, Santino.

Ruthee’s life was devoted to her children (Maximillian and Sheri) and grandchildren (Justin, Max, and Hannah). She was lovingly referred to as Oma by her grandchildren and embraced her role as grandmother with unconditional love, dedication, care, and joy. Her grandchildren were the world to her. She took great care of her husband, Alphonse in many years of marriage.  Ruthee was an inspiration and a source of great support to her daughter.

We will love, remember, and hold dear in our hearts the memory of the most selfless, loving person we know. Always in our thoughts and prayers.
