Obituary of John W. Brooks

John W. Brooks of Manhasset, age 83, passed away peacefully on December 7th with his beloved wife Marian of 56 years by his side. Loving father of David (Kerri) Brooks, Michelle (David) Pegno, Daniel (Colleen) Brooks, devoted grandfather of Andrew, Taylor, Jeffrey, Brian, Matthew, Ally, Chloe and Daniel Jr.  Cherished son of the late William and the late Florence, dear brother of the late Joan (Robert) Denn and Eileen (late Anthony) DiFiori.  Fond uncle to many. He had a successful career in the banking industry spanning over 50 years where he was well respected by his colleagues. An avid sports fan, he loved to play baseball in his youth and softball in his later years, both for the love of the game and for the camaraderie.  He was a man who needed very little to be happy . . . three good meals a day, two desserts, time with his family and a ballgame to watch that night.  He   will be in our hearts always.
