BENNETT Mary Wendell “Wendy” (née Dailey) of Manhasset, NY and Jacksonville Beach, FL passed away on December 2, 2018, at the age of 73.

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Wendy’s warmth, kindness and love made an indelible mark on everyone she met. Wendy is survived by her devoted husband, Richard; her children, Richard (Bridget), Christina, Patrick (Meghan), and Conor; her grandchildren, Jack and Vivienne; her siblings, Ellen, Vincent (Lisa), Lawrence, and David; and countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is pre-deceased by her parents, William and Doris Dailey; and her brother, William (Alice).

Wendy is an alumna of St. Mary’s High School (’63) in Manhasset, where she served as class president, and Manhattanville College (’67) in Purchase, NY where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in government. She went on to have a successful career as a Wall Street executive and was one of the first females to earn the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst in 1974.

She retired from the financial industry to focus on her true passions, raising her four children and community service, particularly helping children. She served as President of Manhasset Middle School, on the Board of the Manhasset Community Fund and on the Executive Committee of the SCA, where she spearheaded rewriting the bylaws and championed the town’s first anti-bullying program.

A faithful Catholic, she lived her life under the doctrine of “love one another as I have loved you” and brought joy wherever she went. This is most evident in her profound relationships with her family and large circle of life-long friends. Hers is a loss that will be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Vigil for Wendy will be held Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm and 7:00pm – 9:00pm at Fairchild Sons Funeral Chapel in Manhasset. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, December 7, 2018 at 11:15am at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Manhasset.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the IBC Network Foundation, an organization that Wendy worked with and passionately believed in. Donations in her honor can be made at www.theibcnetwork.org.
