Obituary of Ethel M. Hayes

Ethel Margaret Hayes was born on January 29, 1931 in Broadchannel, NY and died peacefully with her family by her side at St. Francis Hospital on September 19, 2018.  She was the beloved wife of the late Robert V. Hayes, and beloved sister of the late Eileen Waddelton, Raymond Roche and Dorothea Acosta.   She was the beloved mother of her four children, Robert V. Hayes, Jr., Timothy Patrick Hayes (Bernadette), Gregory Sean Hayes (Kate) and Ann Marie Hayes Cooney (Joe).  She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren, Kelly Benevente (Mike), Kate Bowden (Dave), Kerin Hayes, Gregory Hayes, Andrew Hayes (Katie), Thomas Hayes, Jack Hayes, Audrey Hayes, Greta Hayes, Lucy Hayes, Missy Cooney, Allie Cooney and Chris Cooney, whom she doted on and cherished dearly.  She is also survived by five great grandchildren, Emma, Bennett, Michael, Vanessa and Charlie, whom she adored, and many beloved nieces and nephews.  

Ethel was a wonderful and giving wife, mother, mother-in law, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
