Obituary of Mary E. Jacobini

Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Jacobini, Mary Elizabeth (53), passed away December 18, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Mary was born in Fort Worth, Texas on November 8th, 1964 to Joan Eberwein and is one of seven siblings; three older sisters, two older brothers and one younger brother. Mary was kind to her family and friends; and we are all brokenhearted. Her zest for life was evident in everything she did, bringing joy to all. She was a community volunteer and helped many other people when they needed it most while expecting nothing in return. Her loss will leave a huge void. Mary was taken much too soon but her kindness, compassion and spirit will live on. We take comfort that she is now at peace. For 25 years, Mary worked for the United States Postal Service retiring in 2012 as the Postmaster of Great Neck, New York. She took great pride in her career had many amazing friendships in and out of the postal service. As an extraordinary gardener, she had a beautiful yard with lovely trees, plants and flowers. She was also devoted to her beloved dog Boo and cat, Penelope, and made many lasting friendships at the local dog park. Mary is survived by: her mother, Joan Eberwein, sisters, Susan Harrington (Patrick), Felicia Sealey (George), Laura Gramazio (Walter Catalano); brothers Michael Jacobini (Cheryl), Louis Jacobini, and James Jacobini (Barbara) and nieces and nephew, Maegan, Joan, J.C., Marissa, Rebecca, Amy, Natalie, Grace, Olivia and great nephew, Teddy as well as many cousins and devoted friends.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her memory to an animal rescue or sanctuary of your choice.
