Obituary of Adrian J. Sheehan

Please share a memory of Adrian to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

~~
Adrian J. Sheehan of Roslyn entered this life on August 17th, 1931, the son of Patrick and Mary Sheehan. Born in the Bronx, Adrian moved to South Ozone Park as a child and grew up there.  In 1955, Adrian married his beloved wife Harriet, and they moved first to Astoria and then to Little Neck in 1961, where they built a strong and loving home for their son, John, and daughter, Adrienne.   He served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and became a skilled craftsman and artisan, specializing in the installation and maintenance of fine oriental rugs and carpets. Adrian’s work took him from the grand mansions of Newport, RI to the Oval Office itself, and afforded him the opportunity to meet many famous and notable figures such as Caroline Kennedy, Bon Jovi, and Bruce Springsteen.  Throughout his life, Adrian was a loving and devoted father to his children, and later, grandfather to his four granddaughters, Carolyn, Mary, Elizabeth, and Catherine whom he loved dearly. He served faithfully for many years as a Eucharistic minister for St. Mary’s Parish after moving to Roslyn. Adrian also loved to tell jokes, and was a master of story telling, a talent he shared abundantly with his family and friends.   Adrian departed this life to receive his eternal reward on November 24th, 2017 at the age of 86. He is survived by his son, Dr. John Sheehan of Flower Hill, and his wife Carolyn, his daughter, Mrs. Adrienne Connolly of Roslyn, and her husband William Connolly, along with his four granddaughters, Carolyn, Mary, Elizabeth, and Catherine, his niece Kathryn Donoghue and her husband Richard, his nephew John Tunney and his wife Denise, his grandnephews Richard, his wife Stephanie, and Jack, his grandniece Jacqueline, his great grandniece Brianna, along with many dear friends.
