Obituary of George Edward Hackett

George Edward Hackett, age 93, of Port Washington, Died on 28 July 2017. He was the son of Marie Donnelly and George Hackett.

He was the the husband of Jill Ciurleo Hackett and father of Andrea Hackett Feodorov and her husband Michael, of Hemet California., and his son S. Bernard Hackett of Eugene, Oregon. Also survived by his sister, Jane Mooney, wife of the late Lewis.

He was the brother-in-law of George W. Brisco and Angelo N. Ciurleo.

He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

George was a graduate of Lehigh University cum laude. He was a civil engineer with Ebasco Industries for 37 years.

He was a WWII Veteran served as 1st Lt. overseas with the 28th Infintry division as a forward observer in combat unit  the European Theater of operations through four campaigns , involving France, Luxembourg and Germany, and recieved The Purple Heart for action at The Hurtgen Forest in 1944.
