Obituary of Constantine J. Carr

Constantine J. Carr, known as Dino, age 85 of Manhasset, New York, gently passed away on Friday May 5th, 2017.  Born in Boston, Massachusetts in July 1931, he was the beloved husband of Emily and loving father of John Carr, Eleni A. Carr, and her spouse, Hara and grandfather to Anya Carr-Klein. Dino was the son of the late John E. Carr and the late Anastasia (Kontos) Carr, brother of the late Edward J. Carr and is survived by his sister, Irene Vassilaros of Palm Beach, Florida and a large extended family. 

Raised in New York, Dino was a graduate of St. Paul's School in Garden City and briefly attended NYU before leaving to join the family business, Chimes Brownie Company.  He served as a corporal in the US Army during the Korean conflict.  Along with his brother, he owned and operated Chimes Bakeries and later created Crimp Cup Corporation. Dino was an avid gamesman, who enjoyed playing poker and in his earlier years, was a highly competitive backgammon player. During its hey day he played many championship level tournaments. He was a cherished friend and he will be profoundly missed.   

Visiting hours will take place from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Sunday May 7th, Fairchild Sons,1570 Northern Boulevard, Manhasset, NY 11030. Funeral service on Monday May 8th at the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, 100 Fairview Drive, Port Washington, NY.
