Maggie was a life-long resident of her beloved Port Washington graduating from Schreiber High School.
In her early years as a Mom, she was actively involved in the life and support of her seven children, serving as a St Peter’s volunteer and a Cub Scout Den Mother.
In 1985, she joined the Nassau Ilustrated News eventually being promoted to Editor. She retired in 2012 and was lauded by the New Hyde Park Village Board for her extraordinary work in the NHP community writing and promoting community events. Known as the "Lady with the Hats", New Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce President Mark Laytin shared that “Maggie was always there whether we told her something was happening or not, she found out, she covered it whether it was at night, in the morning, or on the weekend, she was there spreading the word about New Hyde Park, which we all love”.
